- Help balance work content across stations and operators to improve flow and throughput
- Support design, prototyping, or procurement of production tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids
- Support welding process development and documentation for TIG, MIG, and Friction Stir Welding
- Participate in design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews and provide feedback on producibility and cycle time
- Support first-article builds, process capability studies, and root-cause analysis of manufacturing issues
- Collect and analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities
- Maintain accurate documentation and support configuration management
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, aerospace engineering, or similar
- Strong fundamentals in manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, assembly, and inspection
- Familiarity with GD&T, technical drawings, and basic CAD
- Ability to work hands-on in a shop or production environment
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Able to work on-site in Austin, Texas
- Prior internship or project experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or hardware startups a plus
- Exposure to time studies, line balancing, or lean manufacturing tools a plus
- Exposure to or interest in TIG, MIG, or Friction Stir Welding a plus
- Familiarity with statistical process control or basic data analysis a plus
This is a hands-on opportunity to shape real production processes for flight hardware, with mentorship from manufacturing engineers and production leaders and potential for a return offer or full-time conversion upon graduation. Join us in rebuilding missile systems for production at scale.
